Traduzione.  Mi hai chiesto spesso quali sono le possibili applicazioni dei vari rami della matematica.  Ho appena scoperto una possibile applicazione di ciò a cui sto lavorando al momento.  Essa risponde alla domanda  "Qual è il tipo più generale di codice o cifrario possibile",  e allo stesso tempo mi permette di costruire (piuttosto naturalmente) parecchi codici particolari e interessanti.  Uno di essi è quasi impossibile da decodificare senza la chiave, e con esso è molto veloce realizzare le codifiche.  Mi aspetto di poterlo vendere al Governo Britannico per una somma piuttosto considerevole, ma sono piuttosto dubbioso circa la moralità di queste cose.  Cosa ne pensi?
