Traccia (aiutandoti col computer), su uno stesso sistema di riferimento, i grafici delle curve:
14*x^2+4*x*y+11*y^2 = 60
(3*x-y+3)^2+12*x*y = 0
(2*x+y-1)*(x+3*y-1) = 2
x^2+4*y^2-4*x*y+2*x-4*y = 1
e stabilisci che tipi di curve sono.
Procedendo con R:
source("http://macosa.dima.unige.it/R/r.R") PLANE(-5,5,-5,5) f = function(x,y) 14*x^2+4*x*y+11*y^2-60; CURVE(f,"black") g = function(x,y) (3*x-y+3)^2+12*x*y; CURVE(g,"red") h = function(x,y) (2*x+y-1)*(x+3*y-1)-2; CURVE(h,"seagreen") k = function(x,y) x^2+4*y^2-4*x*y+2*x-4*y-1; CURVE(k,"blue")
Sono tutte coniche. L'ultimo è un caso degenere, in cui la conica si riduce ad una coppia di rette.
Nota. Se sai che, indicata con
a = 14; b = 4; c = 11; b^2-4*a*c # -600 ellisse a = 9; b = 6; c = 1; b^2-4*a*c # 0 parabola a = 2; b = 7; c = 3; b^2-4*a*c # 25 iperbole a = 1; b = -4; c = 4; b^2-4*a*c # 0 parabola; ma è un caso "degenere".
Nella figura precedente sono stati tracciati anche fuochi, direttrice, asintoti, , usando i comandi seguenti (vedi).
